MRI

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is a test that uses a magnetic field and pulses of radio wave energy to make pictures of organs and structures inside the body.

Schuylkill Medical Imaging in Pottsville, PA is proud to offer state-of-the-art Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) for patients in Schuylkill County.

MRI machines use strong magnetic fields to create pictures of the body’s organs, bones, and ligaments.

Our new Magnetom Aera MRI creates highly detailed images of the:

  • Brain and spinal cord

  • Bones and joints

  • Heart and blood vessels

  • Internal organs such as the liver, uterus, and prostate gland

This type of imaging can be very helpful in diagnosing injuries or fractures, and identifying cancer and other diseases in their earliest stages.

The new MRI machine at Schuylkill has a wide opening for more comfortable scans. The large open bore accommodates patients of any size and reduces anxiety for claustrophobic patients. The short magnet area means more scans can be completed with the patient’s head outside of the machine.

With superior image quality, accuracy, and speed, Schuylkill gives referring physicians the high-quality information they need to provide the best patient care.
